Latest Updates

SNAP 2025 exams concluded in December 2025, with results expected around January 9, 2026, and the next cycle (SNAP 2026) tentatively set for December 2026, following a pattern of August registration and December exams. Key updates now focus on the upcoming result declaration for 2025 (scorecard download & percentile calculation) and the subsequent Group Exercise, Writing Ability Test (GE-WAT), & Personal Interview (PI) rounds for shortlisted candidates, with no official 2026 dates released yet.

Overview

The SNAP (Symbiosis National Aptitude Test) is a national-level, computer-based entrance exam for MBA/PGDM programs at Symbiosis International University's various institutes, testing Quantitative Ability, Reasoning, and English, with multiple annual slots allowing candidates to use their best score for admission to top B-schools like SIBM, SCMHRD, etc., followed by GE-PI-WAT rounds.

A candidate aspiring to join a Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme(s) offered by any Institute of SIU has to appear for the common, mandatory Symbiosis National Aptitude (SNAP) Computer Based Test (CBT) which will be conducted at Test Centres.

Selection Process

Here's a step-by-step breakdown of Selection process

  1. SNAP Entrance Exam: First, you must register for and appear for the SNAP test.
  2. Shortlisting: After results, individual Symbiosis Institutes (like SIBM, SCMHRD) set their own cut-offs. Candidates above the cut-off are shortlisted for the next stage.
  3. GE-PI-WAT Rounds: Shortlisted candidates attend Group Exercise (assesses teamwork/communication), Writing Ability Test (assesses writing/analysis), and Personal Interview (assesses motivation/suitability).
  4. Final Merit List: A composite score is calculated, combining your SNAP score (around 50%) and GE-PI-WAT performance (around 50%), plus profile factors (academics/work exp.).
  5. Mandatory Participation: You must attend all components of GE-PI-WAT for a program to be eligible for admission to that program.

Exam Analysis

The first session of the SNAP 2025 exam took place on December 6, 2025. True to its traditional speed-oriented format, the 60-minute computer-based assessment included three core sections: General English, Analytical & Logical Reasoning, and Quantitative Ability (including DI and DS). Analysis of the test focused on section-specific performance and recommended attempt counts.

The General English section consisted of 15 MCQs and was a scoring section, whereas the Analytical & Logical Reasoning (A-LR) section included 25 MCQs. The Quantitative Ability section comprised 20 MCQs.

In line with standard SNAP protocols, the scoring system awarded 1 point for correct answers and deducted 0.25 points for each error. The exam featured a total duration of 60 minutes with no sectional time constraints, though candidates were required to complete all three segments without the ability to skip entire sections.

The structure of SNAP 2025 remained identical to previous editions, prioritizing a candidate’s efficiency and precision. The exam favored those who demonstrated strong time management and strategic thinking by bypassing difficult questions to focus on high-yield opportunities across all three sections

Result

The SNAP (Symbiosis National Aptitude) MBA program results, specifically for the 2025 exams (held Dec 2025), are expected on January 9, 2026, on the official SNAP test website where you log in with your SNAP ID and password to download your scorecard showing sectional/overall scores and percentiles, a crucial document for the subsequent GE-PI-WAT rounds at Symbiosis institutes like SIBM, SCMHRD, etc.

Answer Key

For the SNAP MBA program, Symbiosis International University (SIU) does not release official answer keys anymore; instead, you rely on memory-based, unofficial answer keys from coaching institutes to estimate scores using the +1 for correct, -0.25 for incorrect marking scheme, as the final results are based on the best score across multiple attempts.

Preparation Tips

Preparing for the SNAP 2026 exam requires a shift in mindset compared to other MBA entrances like CAT. Since SNAP is a 60-minute, 60-question exam, it is less of an "intelligence" test and more of a "speed and accuracy" marathon.

Here are the best preparation tips and strategies tailored for SNAP 2026:

  1. Master the "1 Minute per Question" Strategy

In SNAP, you don't have time to dwell. If you can't solve a question in 45–60 seconds, you must skip it.

  • The Filter Method: During mocks, practice "skipping" time-consuming puzzles or lengthy arithmetic questions.
  • No Sectional Time Limit: Use this to your advantage. Start with your strongest section (usually English or Reasoning) to build confidence and "bank" time for the Quantitative section.
  1. Section-Wise Focus Areas

Section

Focus Topics

Success Tip

General English (15 Qs)

Idioms, Syllogisms, Fillers, Grammar, Vocabulary.

Vocab is Key: This section is usually the fastest. Read Everyday Vocabulary by Arihant Publications and focus on "typical words" and compound words.

Analytical & Logical Reasoning (25 Qs)

Blood Relations, Series, Coding-Decoding, Clocks/Calendars.

Heavy Weightage: This section has the most questions. Master "Series" and "Arrangements" as they are staples in SNAP.

Quantitative Ability (20 Qs)

Arithmetic (Percentages, TSD, Profit/Loss), Algebra.

Arithmetic First: 60-70% of this section is often Arithmetic. Learn Vedic Math or speed-calculation tricks to save time.

3. The 3-Month Preparation Roadmap

If you are starting early in 2026, follow this timeline:

  • Phase 1 (Concepts): Spend the first 4–6 weeks clearing basics. Focus on NCERT Math (Class 9-10) and fundamental Grammar rules.
  • Phase 2 (Speed Building): Take topic-wise tests. Focus on solving 20 questions in 15 minutes.
  • Phase 3 (Mocks & Strategy): In the final month, take 15–20 full-length mocks. Analyze your "error log" to see why you got questions wrong (was it a concept error or a time-pressure error?).

4. Recommended Resources

5. Leverage the Three Attempts

  • SNAP allows you to take the exam up to three times (usually in December).

Strategy: Treat the first attempt as a "real-time mock" to understand the pressure. Use the 10-day gap between tests to fix the specific weak areas identified in the first round. Only your best score will be considered.
