Selection Process

Candidates of Bihar SI are required to go through the exam stages in order to get selected. The Bihar Police Sub Inspector Selection Process includes the following stages

  • Written Exam (Prelims and Mains)
  • Physical Standard Test
  • Physical Efficiency Test
  • Document Verification
  • Medical Examination

Eligibility Criteria

Before applying for the Bihar Police Recruitment 2023, candidates must ensure that they fulfill the eligibility criteria set by the Board. The eligibility criteria are as follows-

Age

The category-wise age limit of the applicants is minimum 20 years and maximum 38 years as of  August 31, 2023.There is an upper age relaxation for reserved category candidates as per government rules.

Qualification

Candidates must have completed a Bachelor’s degree in any stream from a recognised university.

Syllabus & Exam Pattern

The Bihar Police SI Exam Pattern consists of 3 stages out of which two are written test stages. As per the Bihar Police SI exam pattern, the examination will be conducted in two phases written test i.e. prelims and mains. As the 2023 official notification has not been released yet, so we could expect the same exam pattern for 2023 and this will be updated once the notification gets released. The Bihar Police SI Exam Pattern for each of them is as follows

Prelims Exam Pattern

The prelims exam will consist of two subjects namely General Knowledge and Current events. The exam will consist of multiple-choice questions. The total number of such questions will be 200. Candidates will be given a duration of 2 hours to attempt it.

Valuation

Out of the total applicants, only 20% are qualified for the main exams. To qualify for the next phase a minimum of 40% of the total marks i.e 60 marks should be obtained. Each question carries 2 marks . For every wrong answer attempted there is a negative marking scheme of 0.2 marks.

Mains Exam Pattern

The candidates clearing the prelims exam will be facing the mains examination. The main exam will consist of two papers namely Paper I and Paper II. Each of these papers will consist of 100 questions carrying 2 marks each. The main exam pattern is given below

Valuation

Each paper has 100 objective-type questions which carry 1 mark each. The maximum marks in this phase are 400 combined from both papers. For each wrong answer attempted a negative marking of 0.2 is subtracted from the total marks obtained.

There are no negative marking criteria for unanswered questions. The General Hindi section is of utmost importance and candidates need to score 30% (minimum) to proceed with the next phase.

  • Visit the official website of the BPSSC i.e. bpssc.bih.nic.in.
  • Click on the Admit Card link.
  • A new login page appears on the screen.
