Overview
The IBPS RRBs Office Assistant is a national-level banking exam conducted every year by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) to recruit candidates to the Clerical Cadre post in the Regional Rural Bank (RRBs). RRB Office Assistant (Clerk) is the lower divisional management post. As an Clerk, you would be supporting various bank functions like Managing Inquiry Counters, Managing Withdrawal, Managing Receipts, Managing Emails and Delivery etc.

The selection process is carried through two stages namely-
- Preliminary Examination
- Main Examination
Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification:- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized University or its equivalent. Candidate should be proficient in the local language as prescribed by the participating RRB/s. Candidate should also know about working on a computer.
Age Limit:- 18-28 years. Age relaxation would be given as per government regulations.
Syllabus & Exam Pattern
- Negative Marking- There is a negative marking in the paper. For every wrong answer, 0.25 marks will be deducted in both main and preliminary examinations. No Marks would be deducted for an unattempted answer.
- Time Duration- The preliminary paper would be conducted in 45 minutes and the main examination would be conducted in 2 hours.
- No. of Questions- The preliminary paper would consist of 80 questions and the main paper would consist of 200 questions.
- Types of Questions- Both papers would consist of Objective type/Multiple-choice questions
- Mode of Exam- The exam will be conducted in online mode.
- Qualifying Marks- The candidates appearing for the IBPS RRBs Office assistant examination must qualify for the paper within the cut-off released by the official board.

Candidates need to stick to the given steps while downloading the admit card :
- Visit the official website of the IBPS, www.ibps.in
- Once you are on the IBPS website, look for the “CRP RRBs” to access the Common Recruitment Process for Regional Rural Banks.
- Click on the link that says “Common Recruitment Process- Regional Rural Banks”.
- Click on the ‘Online Exam Call Letter For Office Assistants’.
- After entering your login details, click on the “Submit” or “Login” button to proceed.
- Once you have successfully logged in, you will be able to view your admit card on the screen.
- Click on the “Download” or “Print” button to save a copy of the admit card or take a printout.

- On the homepage, click on the “Apply Online” link.
- On the screen, a new page will appear. Select the IBPS RRB Office Assistant (Multipurpose) Registration link.
- On the following page, select the “New Registration” tab.
- To finish the registration process, enter your personal information and contact information.
- To proceed, click on “Save and Next”.
- After completing the registration process, the application number and password will be sent to the candidate’s valid email address and mobile number.
- Login with your registration number and password.
- Applicants must upload a scanned photograph and signature in the format specified in the official IBPS RRB 2023 notification.
- After you have uploaded your documents, click the “Save and Next” button.

What is Pre Exam Training in IBPS RRB?
The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection Committee conducts Pre Exam Training to help the candidates belonging to the SC/ST or minority communities. The main objective of this training program is to help candidates to improve their existing abilities and capabilities.
I am in the final year of graduation. Am I eligible to appear in this exam?
As per the official notification,” the result should have been declared before filling up the online registration form.”
How many times can I apply for this exam?
There is no limit to the number of attempts. You can apply for the IBPS RRB exam if you fulfill all the required criteria like educational and age criteria.
Is there any penalty for marking wrong answers in the exam?
Yes, in both phases, 1/4 marks of the marks allotted to the question will be deducted for a wrong answer marked by the candidate. There is no penalty if the candidate has left the answer unmarked.
Can I apply from a different State?
Yes, but it is necessary to be proficient with the regional language of that State.
