Selection Process

The selection process for RPF SI Vacancy 2024 includes the following stages:

• Stage-1: Computer-Based Test (CBT)
• Stage-2: Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
• Stage-3: Physical Measurement Test (PMT)
• Stage-4: Document Verification

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification- a candidate has to be a passed the 10th-level exam to apply for the post.

Age Limit: The age limit as prescribed by the Railway Recruitment board is 2024-25 is 18-28 years. The crucial date for the calculation of the lower age limit is 1 July2024.Age relaxation will be as per state government rule.

Syllabus & Exam Pattern

The following is the RPF Exam Pattern 2024 

• Negative Marking: 1/3rd Marks will be deducted for a question attempted wrong by a candidate. No marks will be deducted for any question left unanswered.
• Time Duration: The time given to complete the Computer Based Test is 90 minutes (1 hour 30 minutes).
• No. of Questions- In total, there will be 120 Questions in the RPF CBT Exam wherein 50 questions from General Awareness, 35 questions from Arithmetic, and 35 questions from General Intelligence and Reasoning.
• Type of Questions- The questions will be Objective Type/Multiple Choice Questions. 
• Mode of Exam- The CBT Exam for RPF Recruitment 2024 will be conducted in online mode.
• Qualifying Marks-  For SI- UR/OBC- 35% and SC/ST- 30%

Document Verification:-

• Based on the performance of candidates in the CBT and subject to their qualifying in PET & PMT, candidates shall be considered for Document Verification.
• Candidates from SC, ST, OBC-NCL & EWS selected purely on merit, without availing any relaxation available to them, shall be counted against UR vacancies.
• In cases of two or more candidates securing same marks, their merit position shall be determined by age criteria i.e. older person shall be given higher seniority.
•  In case the date of birth also happens to be the same they will be placed in ascending alphabetical order (a to z).
• Appointment of selected candidates is subject to their passing requisite Medical Fitness Test to be conducted by the Railway Administration, final verification of educational and category certificates, verification of character and antecedents of the candidates from the local Administration and successful completion of initial training.
• Candidates may please note that Recruitment Committee only recommends names of the empanelled candidates and appointment is offered ONLY by the respective Zones/RPSF.
• Candidates who do not appear for Document Verification will not be considered in the final selection, irrespective of their performance in CBT and PET/PMT.
•  Candidates shortlisted for DV will have to submit all their original documents along with two sets of self-attested photocopies at the time of DV.

Syllabus

The RPF exam consists of three subjects Basic Arithmetic, General Intelligence and Reasoning and General Awareness. The questions asked in RPF SI Exam 2024 will be of Graduation level, so candidates need to prepare for the examination accordingly. • Arithmetic –Number System, Whole Number, decimal and fraction and relationships between number, percentage, ratio, Fundamental arithmetic operations, percentage, ratio and proportion, averages, interest, profit and loss, discount, use of tables and graph, mensuration, time and distance etc .
• General Intelligence & Reasoning- Analogies, Spatial Visualization and Orientation, Problem Solving Analysis, Decision Making ability, Visual Memory, Similarities & Differences, Discriminating Observation, Relationship Concepts, Arithmetical Reasoning, Classification of Verbal & Figure, Arithmetic Number Series, Syllogistic Reasoning, Non-Verbal Series, Coding & Decoding and Statement Conclusion.
• General Awareness- Current Affairs, General Knowledge, Sociology, Indian Arts and Culture, Indian History, Indian Geography, Polity, Sports, Indian Constitution, General Science.

• A new login page appears on the screen.
• Enter Your Registration Number, Date of Birth, Gender, and verification code as displayed on the screen.
• After entering the required login details click on Download Admit Card.
• The admit card is displayed on your screen.
• Download and take a printout of your admit card for future reference.

Result
