 ASHA and Anganwadi Workers in Ayushman Bharat Scheme

  • ASHA and Anganwadi workers are included in the Ayushman Bharat Scheme by the government, as of February 12, 2024.
  • The government of India had received Aadhaar numbers from over three lakh ASHA and 23 lakh Anganwadi workers/helpers.
  • This program seeks to support the larger objectives of the AB-PMJAY program by offering these vital healthcare professionals free health coverage.

Launch of UPI and RuPay Card in Sri Lanka and Mauritius

Paytm E-commerce Rebranded as Pai Platform

  • Paytm E-commerce underwent a dramatic transformation by rebranding as Pai Platforms on February 12, 2024.

Sindhu Ganapathy 

  • The Southern Railway appointed Sindhu Ganapathy as its first transwoman Traveling Ticket Examiner (TTE) on February 12, 2024.
  • Ms. Ganapathy has established a standard for the presence of transgender people in high-profile government roles. She started working for the Railways as an assistant in 2003.
  •  Her reinstatement was made possible in large part by the Southern Railway Mazdoor Union's (SRMU) leaders' intervention and support.
  • After a medical assessment, the railway administration formally acknowledged her as a female employee and permitted her to carry on with her work.

  3.  In order to guarantee the Valmiki community's inclusion and recognition, it aims to change the 1956 Scheduled Castes Order (Jammu and Kashmir) Constitution.

 

Huge Reserves of Iron Ore Found in Rajasthan

  • Significant iron ore resources were discovered by the Mines Department in the Rajasthani area of Karauli on February 12, 2024.
